Baillieston - Primary Schools neglect12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 3rd Sep 2008
Local Liberal Democrat candidate David Jackson has called on the Scottish Government to stop dithering over funding new primary schools. David stated: "Both Garrowhill Primary and St. Bridget's Primary are badly in need of refurbishment - Garrowhill Primary still use temporary huts! We are entitled to expect funding to be made available to improve them as soon as possible. However, the SNP Government cannot stop dithering on whether and how they are going to fund them - meaning that our primary schools have to wait longer and longer to get the investment they need." "Our children deserve better than this. If they don't have warm comfortable school surroundings it is unlikely that they will be able to concentrate and work to the best of their ability."
