LIB DEMS WELCOME DATE FOR GLASGOW NORTH EAST BY-ELECTION

Commenting on the news that the Glasgow North East by-election will be held on November 12, Liberal Democrat candidate Eileen Baxendale said:

"I am glad that a date has finally been set for this important by-election.

"It is a disgrace that the Labour party have let the people of Glasgow North East go unrepresented for this long.

"I look forward to campaigning on the issues that matter to local people - the economy, crime and how to boost jobs in the area.

"The Liberal Democrats are the real alternative to Labour in Glasgow North East.

"We are the party that can make real change happen, not the SNP and it's time that the Labour party were held to account for the mess they've made."
